First Small Quilt

I always wanted to make a small quilt.  I saw this "Blessings" quilt kit at

http://www.temeculaquiltco.com/ and thought why not give it a try.  I was very

happy with the results and the sewing was easy and the directions easy to

follow.

I made the label out of muslin and printed in on the computer

and sewed one side of it into the binding.

Look What I Received In the Mail !!!

created.  Yes, she is very creative with drawing, painting and quilting.  Hop on over

Welcome Back to ME !!!

Wow!!!  Have I been MIA...it has certainly been a while since I have posted here.  Since moving to Fort Myers Beach, FL I have been extremely busy getting our new

little house in order...where did the time go???

I have been doing some quilting...I am making children's quilts for

Quilts for Kids....an organization that makes the quilts and sends them to children who are in the hospital....I have made two so far and have sent them off....

 

 

 

 

 

They send you the pattern and the fabric and all you have to do is sew the blocks and

assemble the quilt top; you have to purchase batting and sew on the backing and the

binding and you are finished.  They even supply a quilt label.  Then you send it back

to them at your expense.  It is really going to a wonderful cause.

 

This has really been fun to do and I have two more in the works.  I hope to be more

visible on the blog now.

We Are Finally Here !!!!

We arrived at our new home in Ft. Myers Beach, FL a few days later than expected since

we had to wait for Hurricane Sandy to pass so we would be able to drive the 1200 mile

trip from Pennsylvania.



It will take us a while to get settled in and put everything in its place as we purchased

a small house and need to find places to put all of our stuff....LOL.

I know we are going to love it here....

Blog Name Change

Since we will be moving to Ft. Myers Beach, FL in less than a month, I have changed my blog name to "Pelican Key".  Churchville Lane was named for my blog since we lived in Churchville, PA.  (very unique LOL)

 

Now since we are moving, I have decided to change the blog name that will be more fitting to our new address.  Pelican Key it is since there are so many pelicans down on the beach and in our surrounding areas and I actually have really taken quite a liking to them. 

Packing, Selling, Moving

I haven't posted much lately.  We sold our home in Churchville, PA (hence the blog name) in July and we have been busy packing and downsizing as we are moving into a much smaller home.  We had a moving sale this past weekend and most of your belongings were sold with the exception of my DR table and chairs and our kitchen set.  We could not sell the kitchen set as we have nothing to sit on or eat off of.

We are moving to Ft. Myers Beach, FL.  Once there and settled in, I hope to get back to quilting and sewing.  I really miss it as I have my sewing machines packed up and in storage.

We are moving November 1.  It takes us 2 nights and 3 days to do the trip as we have our Westie, Molly, in the backseat.  She is such a great traveller.
