I purchased this FQ bundle from Fresh Squeezed Fabrics...I decided I wanted to make a quilt for myself...I also purchased a pattern that looks like a pinwheel...I have cut out the squares and now I just have to make the HST....it should turn out real pretty when it is finished...

I really liked the combination of the aqua and orange.....

Halloween Quilt...Finally Finished

I have finally finished my Halloween quilt..I won the fabric and pattern last year during Fall into Fall Quilters Blog Giveaway...you can read about it here..this was a fun quilt to make...

I backed it with orange fabric with black polka dots....I quilted it with a free motion design of what else....pumpkins....

Remembering 9/11.......We Must Never Forget

Hurricane Irene

what a week.... first, we had an earthquake that hit Virginia and the surrounding states.....even being felt in Philadelphia and vicinity.....and now Hurricane Irene is on her way...

We live about 15 miles north of Philadelphia, in Bucks County, PA....Hurricane Irene is traveling up the east coast and will be hitting our area on Saturday evening/Sunday....she is expected to drop 5-10 inches of rain...they are warning us about downed trees and power outages....

I pray everyone in her path will be safe...

Transformation

I love surfing the web to see and learn what people are doing...It amazes me how many talented people there are in this world and the internet reveals it to everyone....

Recently, I came upon Heaven's Walk blog where I found this

technique Laurie did.....

the graphic came from The Graphics Fairy where you can find

a wonderful assortment of vintage images and crafty projects...

After reading the how-to on Heaven's Walk I decided to look

for a graphic on The Graphics Fairy.....

I have had these 2 crock jugs for a long time and wanted to

try my hand at this technique....

I chose two different graphics and this is

how they turned out.....

it actually makes the jugs look older and the one jug has

the label scratched off somewhat to give it that

aged look....

I know I will be doing this technique again.....

It is addicting......

The other day was Molly's 10th Birthday.......

We sang Happy Birthday.....

and then gave her a birthday treat......

in her favorite treat bowl.....

which she gobbled up....she loves this stuff...

after which she was lickin' her chops...umm..yummy

Dresden Plate

I have made my first Dresden Plate....I have a glass-top table and wanted to put

something between the base and the glass and I thought I could make a Dresden Plate....it is 32 inches wide.... the walls are a light green so I decided to use the light green and pink and put the deeper pink in the center...I am very happy with it.....sorry about the glare....

what a unique date....

trying to stay warm in PA

where we are expecting up to

8 inches of snow thru the night...

Red, White and Blue Scraps

I have quite a few scraps left over from a patriotic quilt

I made some years back, actually, it was my first foundation

piece quilt...I really enjoyed sewing that together...

but now I have so many scraps that I decided to make a

string quilt...I have seen so many of the quilters that have

made a string quilt and now I am going to sew one..what

a great idea on how to use up all of your scraps....

I have been putting the blocks together..

I am sewing 6.5 inch blocks which will be 6 inches when sewn...

I have to make a small block since my scraps are not that

long...they were precut for the quilt I made...

I hope that I have enough to make a lap quilt...

I may have to add sashing and a few borders...

I also have a star that is made from 4 of the blocks

from the original quilt and I thought I could use

that as well....

I will have to see how this turns out....

wish me luck...LOL...
