Free Motion Quilting Project

I recently joined a quilt blog, Building Blocks Quilt Along, hosted by Leah Day.  If you do not know or heard of Leah you need to go to her website and check it out.  She has been showing people how to free motion quilt; what a great teacher.

We will be making 42 FMQ blocks over the next year and then joining them with a quilt as you go technique.

I have made my first block, a four patch.  I FMQ the block as per instructed by Leah.  I really wanted to learn how to FMQ as I just love it and Leah makes it look so easy....not there yet but I hope to be by the end of this quilt along.  Here is my first FMQ block.  I have chosen pink and green as the quilt top and orange as the backing with the quilting done in a silver thread.  I will be using gray to connect the block and may also use it as the binding.

I thought you would be able to see the quilting much better than this....
